The Top 4 Campgrounds Near Albany, OR

1. Whitcomb Creek County Park

If you think of forests and trees when you think of great places to camp, the rustic Whitcomb location in Oregon’s Cascadia-Foster region might be for you. The campsites are set under shady trees with the lush beauty of the Pacific Northwest all around. The campsites have no hookups and there are no showers on-site, but there are vault toilets. If you can embrace the ‘roughing it’ camping style, the gorgeous views of treed, rolling hills, and access to Green Peter Reservoir may be worth it.

Popular reservoir activities include hiking, bird-watching, and fishing. There’s a boat ramp and water sports such as water-skiing, and jet-skiing are favorites here. This family-friendly camping place is open May through September and permits pets on hand-held leashes.

2. Blue Ox RV Park

Named for the legendary folklore lumberjack Paul Bunyan’s blue ox, Babe, this wheelchair accessible, family-friendly camping area is located in Albany. It features linear rows of recreational vehicle (RV) campsites with full hook-ups including cable TV and Wi-Fi. What’s really special here is that there’s an indoor swimming pool. The property also includes a small gym and some laundry machines along with washrooms and showers.

The Blue Ox’s rates are based on nightly, weekly, or monthly stays. It’s best to check ahead for reservation and cancellation policies. Pets are usually permitted with an extra fee and additional vehicles may also be considered.

3. Benton Oaks RV Campground

Located in Corvallis at the Benton County Event Center and Fairgrounds, this wheelchair-accessible, family-friendly camping area has both RV and tent campsites. The surroundings are beautiful here with some towering trees on the property and views of rolling hills in the distance. Leashed pets are allowed.

The RV sites include 28 full-hookup campsites with water, sewer, power, Wi-Fi, and cable TV plus 100 more with partial hook-ups that include power, water, and Wi-Fi. Restrooms and showers are located onsite and there are also coin and credit card-operated laundry machines. This is a smoke-free property and stays of up to 14 days within a 30-day period are permitted.
